The world within and without simply explained through the Universal law of Cause and Effect. (Part 3)
Select excerpts from Chapter 6: Another aspect of the world within and world without is made clear through the understanding of Universal laws (more in Chapter 7). All of humanity in this world is governed by these laws. They are for real. They are immutable, whether you believe in them or not. They are not like man's laws, which can be changed. Know that Universal laws are truth. There is no need to question that. You can read dozens of books in the library that prove this to be the case. Unlike man's laws, which you can disrespect and then not go to jail (if you are not caught), if you disregard Universal laws, you will feel the effects in one form or another, as surely as the sun will rise tomorrow.
The Universal law of Cause and Effect is just such a truth. It states that for every cause there is a definate effect, and for every effect there is a definate cause. Cause and effect is the relationship between events or things, where one is the result of the other. Briefly stated, it's a combination of action and reaction. You can see examples of this everywhere, throughout nature and life in general:
It rained for several days (cause), and the village was flooded (effect).
The man smoked cigarettes for many years, and he eventually got lung cancer.
The woman said something bad about her friend. Her friend heard what she said, and they are no longer friends.
When two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom combine, water is formed.
I flipped the light switch on, and a light came on and made the room bright. -CAUSE AND EFFECT-
As it relates to this chapter, your world within is the cause (thoughts and beliefs), and the world without is the effect (what happens). In other words, the outer is a reflection of the inner. What happens in your world (the effect) is a result of your inner thoughts (the cause).
You don't think you are smart (cause), so you don't get good grades in school (effect).
You are afraid of failure, so you never try anything new.
You believe it is hard to make good money, so all your jobs are low-paying and opportunities don't seem to come your way.
You don't think you are attractive, so you have a difficult time finding a boyfriend or girlfriend. -CAUSE AND EFFECT-
Ralph Waldo Emerson said that the Law of Cause and Effect is the "Law of Laws."
As it relates to mind culture, every human thought, word, and deed is a cause that sets off a wave of energy (electromagnetic energy) throughout the universe, which in turn creates the effect, whether desirable or undesirable. That doesn't mean that a single thought or action will automatically make something happen within our physical reality. Think of it like radio waves. It takes a strong signal to travel and create. So it is with thought. It takes a concentrated and consistant effort over a period of time to make things happen. But give enough thought to anything, and it will happen, whether for good or bad.
In the field of psychology, the world within relates to the subconscious mind, and it is through the subconscious that we connect with the Universal Mind and create a constructive or destructive relationship with the Universe. This is the cause of everything that happens in your life.
The Master Key System has this to say about it:
"The world within is the practical world in which the men and women of power generate courage, hope, enthusiasm, confidence, trust and faith, by which they are given the fine intellegence to see the vision and the practical skill to make the vision real."
Furthermore it states,
"Insight is a product of the world within and is developed in the Silence, by concentration. Insight enables us to prepare for the obstacles which we shall meet; we can therefore overcome them before they have any opportunity of causing difficulty."
Finally, it explains the following:
"The world within is governed by mind. When we discover this world, we shall find the solution to every problem, the cause for every effect; and since the world within is subject to our control, all laws of power and possession are also within our control."
