Learn what it takes to develop and control the power of your thoughts (part 2).
Excerpts from Chapter 11: Develop and Control the Power of Thought
Charles Haanel tried to explain this to humankind over a hundred years ago in a correspondence course called The Master Key System, where the students receive one lesson a week for twenty-four weeks. This is real knowledge of substance that explains the truth to anyone willing to listen. While it certainly had its impact on the readers of the day, I feel the youthful mind of the 21st century is ready to embrace these concepts and change the world forever. You are leaning that knowledge now.
As you can see, just thinking and thinking with intention and focus are two different things. Thoughts and decisions made from your inner self (world within) have a greater quality, purpose, and power than thoughts and decisions made without awareness and good intent.
Constructive thought has creative qualities. It IS creative, but creative thought also must be harmonious to connect with the Universe. They result in real power, power from within. They remove lack, limitation, and adverse conditions, which result in weakness. And weakness is simply the lack of power. The remedy then is simply to develop power, power in terms of energy, through the form, quality, and vitality of your thoughts. This is accomplished in the exact same manner as anything else: by exercise and practice.
Exercise consists of applying the knowledge you are now learning. Knowledge does not apply itself. Abundance and the good life will not just happen without effort. You must do the work. Don't expect anything if you do nothing. Conscious realization and acceptance of Universal laws, such as the Law of Attraction, with the intent to make the laws work for you to create a better life is your choice now. In the previous chapter I shared knowledge about focus, concentration, and attention as it relates to thinking. Throughout this composition I have emphasized the need for practice to accomplish strengthening the power of your thoughts. I have talked about the quality of your thoughts and how important that aspect of thinking is. You will be developing power in the terms of energy. That will take time, real effort, and action. To help you with this, I describe below a few more powerful methods that you should employ as often as possible to cultivate your abilities and to develop the right mind culture for your thoughts to grow: visualization, words and language, and affirmations.
Visualization is the use of mind to achieve success by applying imagination. In its simplest form, it is an exercise that is well known to the scientific community and used by professional athletes and trainers throughout the sports world. Visualization allows the athlete to develop control over muscle reaction and complex techniques through the use of mental images, combined with feelings generated by the action of their muscles. Various sports, where the winner is determined by literally hundredths of a second, require perfection in the athletes' movements to be successful (this is achieved through muscle memory). Mental visualization helps to attain this much faster and more effectively than years of physical practice. As a young athlete living in LA, I personally used this method to successfully learn the technique of pole vaulting. From my own experience, it worked brilliantly! To be continued...
